McLaren care in South Florida
McLarens put their radiators in the side intakes, behind the doors. In Broward, those intakes collect leaves, sand and road debris, and the radiators lose efficiency. In summer traffic on Las Olas or A1A, a blocked radiator can push engine and gearbox temperatures up quickly. We inspect and clean the side radiators during service.
Heat and humidity also affect the electrical system. McLarens draw current when parked, and garage heat shortens battery life. A low battery can cause door, gearbox and infotainment warnings that look worse than they are. A battery tender is the simplest protection for a car that sits.
PCC hydraulics and dihedral door struts age with heat cycles as well. Accumulator spheres lose charge over time, which shows up as a harsher ride or a suspension warning. Near the coast, salt air adds corrosion to brake hardware and aluminum suspension parts. We look at all of it on every visit.
Signs your McLaren needs a visit
- A suspension warning or a harsher ride than usual, often a sign that PCC accumulators are losing charge.
- A gearbox warning, slow shifts or a judder when pulling away.
- Rising coolant temperature in traffic, which can mean blocked side radiators.
- A dihedral door that will not stay open or closes slowly.
- Slow cranking or several warnings after the car has been parked for a while.
Each of these has a clear diagnostic path. Your technician reads the fault memory, checks the service history so you know what is due next, and keeps a written record of the visit with photos for your files and for resale.
What to expect on your visit
