Why Florida is hard on paint
Broward cars live outdoors in strong sun most of the year. UV breaks down clear coat. Salt air drifts inland from the beach and A1A. Summer storms leave hard-water spots that etch if they bake in the sun. Love bug season adds acidic splatter to every front bumper. Black, dark blue and red paints show the damage first, but every color suffers. Regular protection slows all of it down.
How we correct paint
Good paint correction is measured, not guessed:
- Wash and decontaminate. We remove iron fallout, tar and bonded grime so the polish works on the paint itself.
- Measure. A paint-depth gauge reads each panel. Repainted panels and thin edges get noted and handled gently.
- Test spot. We try a pad and polish combination on a small area and check it under inspection lights.
- Correct. Panels are polished in sections. Heavier defects get a cutting stage followed by a finishing stage.
- Inspect. We wipe each panel to remove polishing oils so nothing hides a defect, then inspect again.
Ceramic coating, step by step
After correction, the paint is wiped down with a panel prep to strip remaining oils. The coating is applied in small sections, leveled and left to cure in the shop, away from rain and dew. We can coat wheels, which makes brake dust much easier to clean on European cars with aggressive pads, plus glass and exterior trim. Before you leave, we explain how to wash the car so the coating lasts.
Ceramic coating vs. wax vs. sealant
| Protection | How it bonds | Typical life | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Carnauba wax | Sits on top of the paint | Weeks | Show shine, frequent re-application |
| Synthetic sealant | Light chemical bond | Months | Easy, affordable protection |
| Ceramic coating | Hard bonded layer | Years with proper care | Daily drivers and garage queens alike |
Detailing for exotic and luxury cars
Exotic and luxury cars bring their own needs: soft single-stage paint on older Ferraris, matte wraps and satin finishes on modern Lamborghinis and AMG models, carbon-fiber trim that must not be cut, and Rolls-Royce and Bentley interiors with delicate leather and wood. Our detailers work beside the technicians who service these cars, so nothing is rushed. For mechanical work on the same cars, see exotic car service.
Detailing after body work or before a sale
A fresh paint repair blends best after the whole car is polished. We often finish collision repairs with a full detail. Selling or buying a car? A detail before listing helps, and a pre-purchase inspection uses paint-depth readings to spot past repairs. You can see recent work in our gallery.
Book a detail at either shop any day of the week between 8 AM and 7 PM, or add one to your next service visit. Our team speaks English and Spanish.
