Plans you can bring to Prestige
Check your contract, then call us with the contract number.
- CarMax MaxCare extended service plans
- Third-party vehicle service contracts that allow a licensed repair facility of your choice
- Manufacturer-backed extended plans and certified pre-owned coverage. Some must be handled by a dealer and others reimburse an independent shop. Send us your contract and we will tell you which applies before you bring the car in.
- Tire and wheel protection plans sold with many leases and used cars
How a warranty repair works at Prestige
- Bring the car and your contract number to either shop, or call the shop to schedule pickup.
- Diagnosis. We find the cause and document it with photos and fault reports. If the administrator requires teardown approval first, we request it.
- Claim submission. We call the administrator with the failure, the cause, part numbers and labor time, and send supporting photos.
- Inspection, if requested. Some administrators send an inspector. We have the car ready and walk them through the findings.
- Authorization. You get the authorized amount, your deductible and anything not covered in writing before we start.
- Repair. We complete the approved work, road test the car and keep the paperwork for your records.
Failures we see under extended warranties
On European and luxury cars, the most common covered claims include:
- Transmissions and mechatronics: ZF 8-speed, Mercedes 7G and 9G-Tronic, VW Group DSG, Porsche PDK. See transmission repair.
- Engine internals: BMW timing chain and VANOS faults, oil leaks from gaskets and seals, turbochargers. See engine repair.
- Cooling systems: water pumps, thermostats and expansion tanks
- Air suspension: AIRMATIC struts and compressors, Range Rover air springs. See air suspension repair.
- Electrical: control modules, window regulators, infotainment units and sensors
- A/C: compressors, condensers and evaporators, which work hard in South Florida
How we fight warranty denials
Administrators deny claims for a handful of reasons: wear and tear, pre-existing conditions, missing maintenance or a non-covered part that caused the failure. We answer with facts:
- Failure photos and measurements taken during teardown
- Fault code history with timestamps and mileage
- Contract language, read line by line against the failed part
- Maintenance records, gathered from you, prior shops and the car’s own service history where available
If the claim is still denied, you get a written estimate for paying out of pocket, with urgent items separated from those that can wait. Our insurance and warranty claims page covers accident and flood claims.
What to have ready when you call
- Your contract or plan number and the administrator’s phone number
- Current mileage and a short description of the symptom
- Any recent service records, especially oil changes
- Photos of warning lights on the dashboard, if they come and go
Having these on hand speeds up the first call with the administrator, which is often where authorization stalls.
Why use an independent specialist for warranty work
Warranty claims are won or lost on diagnosis. Our ASE-certified, factory-trained technicians use BMW ISTA, Mercedes XENTRY, Porsche PIWIS-level, VW/Audi ODIS-level and JLR Pathfinder-level tools, so the cause we report is specific and backed by data. Clear diagnosis means fewer back-and-forth calls with the administrator. Repairs carry our own 2-year / 24,000-mile warranty on top of what your plan covers.
Have your contract number ready and stop by either shop, 8 AM – 7 PM, seven days a week. Se habla español.
